New Airport To Be Constructed Next Year

Royal Government of Cambodia’s plan to construct an international airport in Siem Reap province will be carried out next year, according to local media report.

As cited in the report, Mr. Sin Chanserey Vutha, Spokesperson of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation shared that the project is the cooperation between the royal government and Yunnan Development Group.

Located at Sotr Nikum district, added the spokesperson, the future international airport will encompass 750 hectares of land surface.

The construction of the new airport will undergo two main phases and take between three to five years, with an estimated total amount of over US$800 million.

Mr. Sin Chanserey Vutha foresaw the project as means to further attract more tourists and investors to Cambodia, especially Siem Reap cultural province.
