New Flavor of Night Market to Emerge in Phnom Penh

A local investor is putting money in a new flavor of night market in Phnom Penh in order to attract more local and international tourists to the capital, according to local media report.

Initiator Oknha Srey Chanthorn, Chief Executive Officer of Sky Land shared that the night market will be made of ship-cargo containers with special decoration.

One container, he said as cited in the source, can accommodate between two to four stalls depending on its length, adding that services include sales of goods, bars, barbershops, and beyond.

To date, half of the work has been completed and the market is supposed to be opened in January next year, 2017.

The night market will sit on one hectare of land in an area adjacent to National Assembly in Khan Chamkar Mon of Phnom Penh.
