New German Ambassador Pays Courtesy Visit to Cambodian NA President

Cambodia and Germany have expressed optimism over better relations and cooperation between both countries, especially between both legislative bodies.

The expression was made during a meeting between Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA) and newly appointed Ambassador of Germany to Cambodia H.E. Ingo Karsten, at the NA Palace yesterday.

Samdech Heng Samrin expressed warm welcome to the appointment of H.E. Ingo Karsten and hoped that the ties of friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Germany will be further strengthened and expanded during his diplomatic term.

The NA president lauded the good relations between the Cambodian-German Parliamentary Friendship Groups and thanked the German side for their support to Cambodia's socio-economic development, especially to the NA General Secretariat.

For his part, H.E. Ingo Karsten promised to do his best to tighten the relationship and cooperation, mainly the diplomatic, political, trade and cultural ties between both countries during his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.

According to H.E. Ingo Karsten, a German delegation composed of different political parties having seats in the Bundestag will visit Cambodia in February next year.
