New Hydropower Dam Built in Koh Kong Province

A 150-megawatt hydropower dam project in Koh Kong province has gotten green light from the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) on Jan. 17.
The dam project is invested by Cambodia Upper Tatay Hydropower Co., Ltd, – with an investment capital of US$389 million.
The project is located in Thmar Bang and Koh Kong districts, Koh Kong province, and is expected to create 1,580 jobs for the locals.
Such investment demonstrates confidence of investors in Cambodia’s macroeconomic, political and social stability as the country is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
