New Online Vehicle Registration Proved Successful

Thanks to the new online registration system, some 17,000 special number plates of vehicles have been serviced, generating 14,000 million Riel (roughly US$3.5 million) as national income.

H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport shared the information after updating the work progress to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng recently.

The new online system, added the senior minister, does not only ease transparent management of national income collection, but also provides fast and good services.

Ministry of Public Works and Transport has been placing quick response code, widely known as QR code, on new vehicle number plates in order to better prevent falsification of the plate as well as tax evasion.

Being scan-able using smart phone, the QR code can identify detailed information of vehicle owners and data, such as colour, numbers and beyond.
