New Senate Office Officially Opened

Cambodia Senate has recently marked an official opening of its China-funded new office under the chairmanship of its President Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Xiong Bo.

Worth over US$3 million, the three-storey office was interpreted by H.E. Xiong Bo as another friendship representation of the two nations.

House of lawmakers, he added, plays a crucial part in the relationship between Cambodia and China which are neighbors of traditional bond and comprehensive cooperation.

Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum spoke highly of the support from China and pledged to maximise the use of the facilities for quality services of his institution.

The assistance from China covered beyond a senate office, whose construction took less than one year, to necessary equipment and supplies in it.

Since 1999, the People's Republic of China's total assistance to Cambodia Senate alone is equivalent to almost US$16 million.
