No More Pet Poops in Phnom Penh’s Key Parks

Phnom Penh Municipal Hall forbids pet pooping in the capital’s main parks and penalty for the rule violators will soon put into practice, according to a local media report.

Mr. Sam Samuth, Bureau Chief of the Municipal Gardens Office, according to the same source, notes that poops of pets especially dogs brought to the park by their owners have so far caused insanitation at the parks.

The municipality has ordered installation of forbidding signs against pet pooping in key parks at the Independence Monument, Botum Vattey Pagoda, river bank in front of the Royal Palace and Chan Chhaya, and Samdech Hun Sen Park.

Municipal authority will fine those who ignore the forbidding.

The pet pooping forbidding is not applied for all the 68 parks in Phnom Penh, but for the above mentioned locations.
