Option of Electronic Public Bus Ticket Provided

AKP Phnom Penh, Autonomous Bus Transportation Authority of Phnom Penh capital hall on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a private specialised bank to handle electronic tickets of the public bus service.

Phnom Penh Governor H.E. Pa Socheatevong presided over the official signing ceremony of the agreement with Wing (Cambodia) Limited Specialised Bank.

With the new option, H.E. Pa Socheatevong called for more passengers to use the public bus transport service which will contribute to addressing traffic congestion issue in the capital.

According to the governor, currently there are 57 buses transporting passengers along three lines. In a near future, he added, with 200 more buses donated by China and Japan, the bus lines will increase to ten.

Once applied, the electronic bus ticket service will be the first of its kind in Cambodia.
