The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia has supported and encouraged the organisation of the 3rd political consultation between Cambodian and Cuban foreign ministries in the near future to promote the effective implementation of the memoranda of understanding and agreements already signed.

Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet made the encouragement during a telephone conversation with H.E. Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Republic of Cuba, on Sept. 9.

The Cuban President reaffirmed the commitment of his country to continue its good cooperation with Cambodia based on the long-standing historical relationship and to support each other in multilateral forums. He also recalled the official visit of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun, former Prime Minister of Cambodia, to the Republic of Cuba in September 2022, during which many memoranda of understanding in the fields of agriculture, health, education and sports were signed.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked Cuba for its support and assistance during Cambodia’s most difficult period, especially after the liberation from the Khmer Rouge regime, reflecting the solidarity and strong friendship between the two countries and peoples. As the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei reaffirmed to continue and strengthen the good cooperation in existing areas and to expand it to other potential areas.

Cambodian PM said he will find a suitable time to visit Cuba, at the invitation of H.E. Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.
