Outgoing Ambassador of New Zealand to Cambodia H.E. Ben King paid a farewell visit to Cambodian Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn here at the ministry office early this week.
In the meeting, H.E. Prak Sokhonn spoke highly of the efforts of H.E. Ben King in strengthening the relations and cooperation between the two countries during his diplomatic mandate in the Kingdom.
The senior minister also expressed his appreciation for the visit of Former Prime Minister of New Zealand H.E. John Key to Cambodia in April to meet with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
During the recent Cambodia’s local election, he recalled, New Zealand sent three observers – the practice that demonstrates the country’s attention to democracy in Cambodia.
H.E. Prak Sokhonn thanked the Government of New Zealand as well as the outgoing diplomat for their contribution to Cambodia’s development in all sectors, especially in education and agriculture.
For his part, H.E. Ben King updated the senior minister on the agreement he signed with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, on promoting quality partnership from 2017 to 2021.
The ambassador reiterated continuing commitment of New Zealand toward better collaboration with Cambodia.
