Outgoing WB Country Manager Bids Samdech Sar Kheng Farewell

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng received here on June 14 Mr. Alassane Sow, Outgoing Country Manager of the World Bank (WB) for Cambodia and Ms. Inguna Dobraja, newly appointed WB Country Manager.

During the meeting, Mr. Alassane Sow informed Samdech Sar Kheng of the WB’s commitment to continue its cooperation with Cambodia.

Mr. Alassane Sow raised about the WB’s seven projects to help Cambodia, of which four have been already approved, while the other three are under discussion. Among the approved projects, he added, the Ministry of Interior is involved in two projects – the Land Allocation for Social and Economic Development II (LASED II) project and the Livelihood Enhancement and Association of the Poor (LEAP) project in Siem Reap province.

For his part, Samdech Sar Kheng expressed thanks to the WB for its continued support to the above-mentioned projects, underlining that they are very important to help Cambodian poor people.

Samdech Sar Kheng appreciated Mr. Alassane Sow for his endeavor to promote the good cooperation between the WB and Cambodia as well as the Ministry of Interior during his term in the Kingdom, and expressed his sincere congratulations to Ms. Inguna Dobraja for her appointment.
