Over 500 Local Products Displayed at 7th River Festival

More than 500 locally-made products have been displayed for sale at the 7th River Festival taking place in Kampong Thom province from Mar. 8 to 10.
According to H.E. Suong Noy, Deputy Secretary General of the National Committee for the Promotion of One Village One Product Movement, the 500 local products displayed include coconut, milk, fish sauce, coconut oil, lemongrass oil, betel leaf oil, silk fabric, Krama (scarves), banana powder, palm products, cocoa products, cashew nut, sausage, dried fishes, pounded rice, beverage, foodstuff, agricultural products, souvenirs, and beyond.
H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, said during this year’s River Festival, there are many kinds of exhibitions such as food and beverage fair, tourism product exhibition, agri-tourism and local commercial products exhibition, etc. with a total of 300 booths.
The expo is a significant contribution to making use of tourism considered as an on-site export aiming to support the agricultural development, especially create job opportunities for farmers, craftsmen and producers through tourism markets, he added.
H.E. Minister also encouraged more exhibitions of Cambodia-made products in the tourism events such as Sea Festival, River Festival and so on to promote the One Village One Product Movement and the development of Cambodia’s agricultural and tourism sectors.
