Participatory Pro-Poor Project Launched to Boost Cambodian Livelihood

Royal Government of Cambodia has put forward its Livelihood Enhancement and Association of the Poor Project (LEAP) for 2017-2020 to further improve people's living conditions.

The launching ceremony of the project took place here in Phnom Penh yesterday under the presidency of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng with participation of Mrs. Inguna Dobraja, World Bank's Country Manager for Cambodia, and representatives from concerned institutions.

Samdech Sar Kheng emphasised that the project will play a crucial role in social-economic development and livelihood enhancement wherein engagement of the beneficiaries are meaningfully factored in.

According to Samdech Sar Kheng, the five-year US$20 million worth project � financed by the government in counterpart with World Bank � will be implemented in Phnom Penh capital city and Siem Reap province.
