Phnom Penh Ready to Host General Assembly of International Association of Francophone Mayors

Phnom Penh is ready to host the General Assembly of International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF) to be held on Dec. 3-5.

The update was shared by H.E. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh in a preparation meeting of tasked committee in charge of the event here in Phnom Penh recently.

The general assembly will attract delegates from over 100 member cities of AIMF to discuss and exchange experience and views on sustainable city development and improvement of people’s living condition, the Phnom Penh governor continued.

He added that this is a pride for Cambodia to be the host of the upcoming international event, considering it as a good opportunity to demonstrate the country’s peace and development to the world.

According to Mr. Nuon Pharoth, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh, the meeting will focus on key topics, including the 40th founding anniversary of AIMF, and the 40th anniversary of liberation of Phnom Penh capital from Khmer Rouge regime.

Phnom Penh is a leading city in Asian region because it has a permanent office in that association and other two permanent offices in African and European regions.
