Phnom Penh’s 11 Roads Identified for Order Reinforcement

Phnom Penh authority has identified 11 priority roads to reinforce order in order to address the capital's congestion issue and prevent possible traffic accidents.

The commitment, according to its spokesperson Mr. Met Meas Pheakdey, was the key agenda of a recent meeting chaired by Phnom Penh Governor H.E. Khuong Sreng here at the capital hall.

He added that some business owners and residents along the roads have misused the sidewalks in front of their houses for their personal benefits, leading to unnecessary jams.

The roads prioritised for order reinforcement include Preah Norodom, Preah Sisowath, Preah Sihanouk, Preah Monivong, Russian Federation, Mao Tse Tung, Kampuchea Krom, Preah Monireth, Charles de Gaulle, No. 271, and No. 70.

Series of actions will be applied to improve the road order, commencing with promoting awareness of concerned residents as well as business owners along the roads.

The 11 identified roads are not the last, but the first ones for the commitment of the capital hall to re-install order in Phnom Penh.
