PM Calls for Attention to Traffic Accidents and Fire during Upcoming Chinese New Year

As Chinese Lunar New Year is approaching, Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has called on all Chinese communities to be careful of traffic accidents and fire.

“Lunar New Year is a happy moment, please don’t make it a tragedy,” he underlined when he inspected the construction progress of Techo Santepheap National Hospital and held a get-together with construction workers in Sangkat Kok Roka, Khan Prek Phov, Phnom Penh this morning.

COVID-19 poses a concern for the forthcoming Chinese New Year, but the biggest ones are traffic accidents and fire, he added.

Chinese Lunar New Year 2023 will fall on Sunday, Jan. 22, starting the year of Rabbit.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also said that around 70 percent of local residents in his community will celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year.
