PM Calls for Immediate Action against Growing Community Cases of Omicron

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has instructed authorities at all level to pay attention and take immediate action after more community cases of Omicron were detected.
In a special voice message this evening, the Premier said 34 more Omicron cases were confirmed today, of which 24 were imported and 10 were locally transmitted; bringing the total Omicron community cases in the Kingdom to 14.
“Our immediate task is to strengthen the preventive measures, i.e. continue implementing the ‘Three Dos, Three Don’ts’,” he said, ordering the administration of the booster doses as soon as possible regardless of the vaccine type.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen advised the provincial and district governors, commune and village chiefs to encourage people to get the booster dose so as to ensure the continuation of the country’s reopening despite the presence of Omicron.
The Prime Minister also underlined that the recommended interval between the 2nd dose and 3rd dose is at least 4 months.
According to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, only some 4 million people have so far received the 3rd or booster dose, while there remain about 10 million people.
This morning, at the inauguration ceremony of the Battambang-Serey Sophorn road portion in Battambang province, Samdech Techo Prime Minister said he had ordered the purchase of 5 million more doses of vaccines even though there are 10 million doses in stock in order to make sure that the Cambodian people have enough vaccines against the pandemic.
