PM Congratulates CamDX for Winning Open Source Adaptation of the Year

Cambodia Data eXchange (CamDX) has won the Open Source Adaption of the Year Award 2022 from the Future of Government Awards.
Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, extended his congratulations to the achievement, stressing that this award is another new pride of Cambodia on the international stage and a recognition that Cambodia has seized the opportunity and successfully used digital technology, especially CamDX, to support its administrative reform and modernisation.
CamDX is one of 10 projects from eight other countries shortlisted in the Open Source Adaptation category – Canada, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Pakistan, Guinea-Bissau, Argentina, the Philippines and Benin.
Under the shadow of peace, Cambodia not only has the opportunity to build many physical infrastructures, but is also moving towards a vibrant digital economy and society, Samdech Techo Hun Sen underlined in a Facebook post this afternoon, urging all government ministries and institutions to encourage the private sector to participate and use CamDX in order to get the most out of the platform and related technologies.
According to the Premier, CamDX, developed and launched by the Techo Startup Centre of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, is a digital technology platform allowing ministries and institutions’ IT systems to share data with each other and to create various online public services.
CamDX’s current members in the business registration framework include the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Commerce, General Department of Taxation, Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, Council for the Development of Cambodia, Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, and Real Estate and Mortgage Business Regulator of Non-Bank Financial Services Authority. The Global Travel Assessment System (GTAS) of the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia is also exchanging data on this platform with airlines.
CamDX is expanding its reach in the financial sector, both bank and non-bank, through partnerships with the National Bank of Cambodia, AMK Microfinance Plc., Royal Microfinance Plc., FWD Insurance Company, Hattha Bank, ACLEDA Bank Plc., Foreign Trade Bank of Cambodia (FTB), Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc., PRASAC Microfinance Institution Plc., Sathapana Bank, MGA Asia Insurance Brokers Co., Ltd.
As of Nov. 29, 2022, a total of 13 million transactions have been operated on CamDX. The platform also has helped the online registration of 19,823 companies with a total registered capital of US$ 5.6 billion.
