PM Hun Sen Asks Authorities to Maintain Security and Traffic Order during Khmer New Year Holiday

AKP Phnom Penh, Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has asked competent authorities to ensure security and traffic order during the forthcoming three-day Khmer New Year celebrations.

“Congratulations on the Khmer New Year 2022. Please enjoy the Khmer New Year, which will be celebrated from April 14 to 16 April 2022,” Samdech Techo Hun Sen wrote on his official Facebook page this evening.

This year, he continued, the Cambodian people can enjoy their traditional Khmer New Year, unlike two years ago, where the country faced the COVID-19 spread.

The Premier also thanked some provinces for organising Sankranta (New Year) event and reminded people to respect the traffic laws, especially to strictly implement the health safety rules against COVID-19.

“May the New Year Angel, Kiriney Devi, protect and bless all the Cambodian people to have a good conscience, mutual understanding, and unite as one great Khmer family in the beloved land of Angkor with happiness, honour, dignity, independence, peace, freedom, democracy, neutrality and social progress forever,” said Samdech Techo Prime Minister.
