PM Hun Sen: No Signature from Any Foreigners Required to Make Cambodian Election Legal

AKP Phnom Penh, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said this morning that the country's constitution does not require any signature from neither the president of other countries nor the UN secretary general to make the election legal.

The participation of the people in the election is enough, underlined the Cambodian premier while visiting more than 15,000 workers and employees from 13 factories and enterprises in Kob Srov area, Khan Pursenchey, Phnom Penh.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that liberal multi-party democracy in Cambodia will not become a hostage of anyone. The [national] election will continue to be organised as scheduled [] Please understand the Kingdom of Cambodia's constitution well, he added.

Democracy without the rule of law is an anarchy which causes destruction and tragedy for the nation, he stressed.

According to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, with completed voter registration and voter list update process, many participating political parties, Cambodians' readiness for election, and the government's enough budget, Cambodia will hold the sixth national election in July next year as scheduled.
