PM Presents Trophies to Golf Winners

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen presided over here yesterday evening a trophy conferment ceremony to the winners of a golf tournament organised as part of the inauguration ceremony of the Win-Win Memorial and the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Win-Win policy.

The trophy conferment ceremony was held at the Garden City Hotel, one of the international-standard hotels in the northern part of Phnom Penh.

Some 199 players, including 67 foreigners, took part in the golf tournament. Of the foreign players, there were 11 diplomats and 56 businessmen from Brunei, China, Germany, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The first winning team is that of Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, while the two runners-up are those of H.E. Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister and Minister of the Industry and Handicraft and of H.E. Neang Phat, Secretary of State for National Defence.

For the individual category, 18 winners got the trophies.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen also presented honorary trophies to National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, Senate President Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh.

Currently, golf is one of the popular sports in Cambodia. There are in total 10 golf fields in the country, especially in Phnom Penh capital, and Kampong Speu, Koh Kong, and Siem Reap provinces.
