PM: State Institutions Should Act as Role Model in Disabled People Recruitment

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen encouraged here this morning the state institutions to be a role model for the private sector in hiring people with disabilities and in arranging facilities for them.

At the celebration of the 18th National and 34th International Day of Persons with Disabilities held in Phnom Penh, Samdech Techo Hun Sen urged the state institutions to fulfill the requirement of recruiting people with disabilities.

The Royal Government of Cambodia sed to issue a sub-decree ordering the 40 government’s ministries and institutions to recruit the disabled people, at least 2 percent of the new recruitment.

There are more than 350,000 people with disabilities in Cambodia. By 2016, state institutions have employed about 2,300 of them, equal to 1.7 percent.
