PM To Hold a Get-Together with Cambodian Para Athletes on May 26

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen will hold a get-together with Cambodian para athletes in the evening of May 26, ahead of the 12th ASEAN Para Games to be hosted by Cambodia from June 3 to 9.

The meeting date was released by Samdech Techo Hun Sen at the inauguration ceremony of a new campus of the Royal University of Fine Arts (RUFA) and the graduation ceremony of 888 students of RUFA, held at the new campus located in Sangkat Prek Leap, Khan Chroy Changvar, Phnom Penh this morning.

Cambodia has registered a total of 236 para athletes, of them 76 are women, to compete with their counterparts from ten other countries in Southeast Asia in 14 types of sports: Athletics, Badminton, Boccia, Chess, 5-a-side Football, 7-a-side Football, Blind Basketball, Judo, Weightlifting, Swimming, Men’s and Women’s Table Tennis, Men’s and Women’s Sitting Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Wheelchair Basketball, and E-Sports (Demonstration).

In the 11th ASEAN Para Games held in Solo city, Indonesia in 2022, Cambodia bagged in total 28 medals: 7 gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze in Boccia, Men’s Sitting Volleyball, Women’s Wheelchair Basketball, Table Tennis, Chess, Athletics, and Swimming.

Cambodia successfully hosted the 32nd SEA Games from May 5 to 17, 2023 under the motto “Sport: Live in Peace”.
