PM Urges Authority to Examine Situation of a Historical Bridge in Kampot Province

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has asked the Kampot provincial authority to examine the situation of Inthanou (Rainbow), a historical bridge in the province, which has been closed for safety reasons.

The Cambodian premier made the request at a get-together with civil servants, armed forces and local authorities in Kampot province on Tuesday afternoon, after receiving Facebook comments suggesting the reopening of the bridge.

If the bridge is still in good condition, it should be reopened for traffic, underlined Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

Built in the 1920s, the over-300-meter-long Inthanou Bridge was destroyed partly during the Khmer Rouge period in the 1970s and later repaired in the 1980s.
