Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said the annual get-together between the Prime Minister and the media will continue.

Speaking in front of more than 4,000 journalists at the 5th get-together at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh this afternoon, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said this event should be further held as the media is so important and a main partner of the Royal Government.

The Premier also expressed his hope that his successor will continue this event.

“The forum between the Prime Minister and the media should be maintained by my successor,” he underlined.

Besides, Samdech Techo Hun Sen encouraged all spokespersons of different institutions to work and well cooperate with the media to provide news to the public.

“All government officials and spokespersons should not take the media as their enemies,” he stressed.

The first get-together between the Prime Minister and journalists began in 2017. It was cancelled for two consecutive years, in 2021 and 2022, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
