Preah Sihanouk Province Continues to be the Most Visited Destination

The coastal province of Preah Sihanouk has defended its title as the most attractive tourism destination for three consecutive weekends.
According to a report of the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia registered 299,888 tourists in the first weekend of May, of them 61,020 visitors went to Preah Sihanouk province.
The second most visited destination is Phnom Penh capital receiving 40,480 visitors, followed by the provinces of Battambang, Kampot, Kep, Siem Reap, and Pursat, it added.
The source pointed out that among the total registered 299,888 visitors, some 283,990 were national tourists and 15,898 were internal foreign tourists.
In the first quarter of this year, some 2.8 million domestic tourists were recorded, of them 2.5 million were national tourists, a year-on-year increase by 42 percent, and about 300,000 were international visitors, up 131 percent.
Cambodia expects to welcome some 600,000 to 700,000 international tourists this year, after the Royal Government had eased the entry rules.
