Private Education Institutes Can Operate without Bank Deposit

The Royal Government of Cambodia has granted privilege to private education institutes to operate without bank deposit � an effort to further enhance education access in the country.

Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen underlined the measure when receiving a delegation of Cambodian Higher Education Association (CHEA) recently at Peace Palace here in Phnom Penh.

The decision follows situation updates and request from the higher education association, according to the press briefing by the premiere's assistant H.E. Eang Sophallet after the meeting.

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen also took the opportunity to outline his recommendations for the association to strengthen educational quality.

Cambodia has currently 93 educational institutes � 48 offering general education and 45 running higher education services.
