Provincial Departments of Commerce Delegated to Issue CO Form D for Agricultural Exports

Departments of Commerce in four provinces of Thbong Khmum, Kratie, Stung Treng, and Mondulkiri located in the Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam Development Triangle Area (CLV DTA) have been delegated to issue Certificate of Origin (CO), Form D, in order to facilitate the export of agricultural products to regional countries.

The official launch of this delegation of function took place late last week in Kratie province under the presidency of Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak with the participation of authorities of the four provinces, officials from relevant institutions and representatives of the private sector.

H.E. Pan Sorasak said that such delegation of function and management responsibilities to provincial departments was done to increase the effectiveness, speed and transparency of this service so as to ease the trading process, particularly the export of agricultural products, and to avoid negative acts, if any.

Until now, such delegation had been implemented in five other provincial departments in Pailin, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, and Rattanakiri, he added.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, Cambodia had seen a remarkable increase in its export values of agricultural products to ASEAN markets under CO Form D from US$728 million in 2016 to US$1,406 million in 2018.
