QUICKLY REGISTER UNDER SKDS 2.0 TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR REFUNDS – FUZIAH

KULIM, Approximately 175,000 owners of eligible logistics vehicles are reminded to quickly register under the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) 2.0 to avoid missing the opportunity to apply for refunds for their diesel purchase this month.

Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Fuziah Salleh said if they registered after June 30, they would not be eligible for the refunds for the purchase made from June 10 when the targetted diesel subsidy took effect.

‘Right now, there are approximately 410,000 logistics vehicles, but only 234,000 registered under the SKDS. So, there are about 175,000 which yet to register to get the diesel fleet cards,’ she told reporters after attending SKDS 2.0 Open Day and Kedah Consumer Carnival here today.

On the alleged increase in the price of construction materials following the implementation of the targetted diesel subsidy, Fuziah reminded construction companies to not take advantage of the situation.

She said if the companies are using logistics ve
hicles that are eligible for the diesel fleet cards, they should not raise the price of the construction materials because they are eligible for diesel subsidy.

‘Not all construction materials are in the price-increasable category, that’s why I said do not take advantage,’ she said, adding that the ministry could not hesitate to take action against those companies under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.
