Rains Expected in Most Parts of Cambodia This Week

Low pressure at upper Mekong basin in Thailand and Laos and seventh typhoon in the South China Sea are causing rains in most parts of Cambodia.

The forecast is underlined in yesterday's notification from the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, adding that the potential rain falls last from July 29 until Aug. 4.

Moderate and heavy rains are likely in provinces such as Pursat, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Thbong Khmum, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Kratie, Preah Vihear, Stung Treng, Mondulkiri, Koh Kong and Preah Sihanouk.

Phnom Penh capital and the provinces of Kandal, Kampong Speu, Takeo, Kep and Kampot will receive less and moderate rainfall.

The rest of Cambodia, continued the announcement, will experience little rains.
