Recent Study Signifies Role of Contract Farming

A recent agricultural study has signified the role of contract farming in promoting Cambodia's agro-commerce and livelihood of small scale farmers, according to local media report.

The dissemination of the study report taking place lately here in Phnom Penh was attended by representatives from relevant government institutions, private sector, and national and international development organisations.

In a nutshell, the report looks into the inter-relationship between private agricultural corporations and small scale producers.

Contract farming, added the study, does not only reduce price fluctuation, but also creates confidence between producers and buyers.

However, parties in the contracts need to be highly responsible.

The mentioned gist is part of what the Royal Government of Cambodia is facilitating along with the implementation of its support policies for the field in order to promote livelihood of farmers and producers.
