Rice Warehousing and Drying Facilities Inaugurated in Kampong Chhnang

Farmers in a community of Kampong Chhnang province will have access to warehousing and drying facilities inaugurated recently under the chairmanship of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Ambassador of India to Cambodia H.E. Naveen Srivastava.

H.E. Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, viewed that the warehouse and concrete slap drying field will contribute vitally to promoting the crop's price and market.

According to an update from the website of the Indian Embassy, the facilities have been made possible through a grant assistance of US$100,000 from the Government of India under a so-called Quick Impact Project Scheme to improve farmer household income.

It is expected that it will help the farmers to increase the quantity and quality of rice products and also improve institutional and management capacity of target agricultural cooperatives in Cambodia.

The warehouse and concrete slap drying field is located in Sethei commune, Samaki Meanchey district of Kampong Chhnang province.
