Royal Government Always Regards CSOs as Partners

The Royal Government of Cambodia always considers civil society organisations (CSOs) as its partners for social development.

The remark was reiterated by H.E. Bun Hun, Secretary of State for Interior, while receiving here yesterday afternoon Ms. Pauline Tamesis, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Cambodia.

To facilitate their cooperation with the Royal Government, he added, CSOs should create a working group that can communicate directly with the already-established working group of the Royal Government.

At the same time, he sought UNDP's technical assistance for the management of NGO and association data in Cambodia.

For her part, Ms. Pauline Tamesis affirmed UNDP's readiness to provide this technical assistance and acknowledged the Royal Government's attention to CSOs by creating a partnership forum between the government and CSOs.
