Russia Agrees to Provide Training on Nuclear Power and Renovate Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital

AKP Phnom Penh, The Russian Federation has agreed to help train Cambodian students on nuclear power skill and to renovate the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh, at the Cambodian request.

The information was shared by Secretary of State for Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Ouch Borith after his meeting with visiting Russian Deputy Foreign Minister H.E. Igor Morgulov, in Phnom Penh on Mar. 30 evening.

According to H.E. Ouch Borith, Cambodia and Russia have reached an agreement to cooperate in nuclear applications for peaceful purposes, therefore training on nuclear power skill is very important.

H.E. Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs also requested the Russian side to help Cambodia create a nuclear power information centre.

For the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital which is a symbol of relations between both countries, H.E. Ouch Borith sought Russia’s assistance for the hospital’s improvement, both in treatment techniques and medical equipment.
