Russian Ambassador Expects a Direct Flight from Russia to Cambodia Soon

Russian Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Dmitry Tsvetkov expressed his expectation for the direct flight between Cambodia and Russian soon.

H.E. Dmitry Tsvetkov expected a direct flight from Russia (Moscow) to Cambodia (Sihanoukville) after a formal decision has been made between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Russian Federation, said the Ministry of Commerce in a news release issued after the meeting between Secretary of State of Commerce H.E. Ms. TekrethKamrang and H.E. Dmitry Tsvetkov, at the ministry office yesterday.

The regular direct flights between Cambodia and Russia was proposed by Prime Minister SamdechAkkaMohaSenaPadeiTecho Hun Sen during his visit to Moscow in May this year.

Cambodia and Russia have already signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for direct flights last year.

Cambodia has been pursuing more direct flights with other countries in order to boost up tourism, trade, and investment. In September this year, Cambodia and Japan launched a direct flight between Phnom Penh and Tokyo.
