School Feeding Programme Resumed After COVID-19 Situation Eases

More than 270,000 students are back to enjoy having breakfast at school again under the school feeding programme, said the Social Protection in Cambodia on its official Facebook page recently.
After the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia has announced the school reopening, the School Feeding Programme for students of the poor and vulnerable households also has resumed, it added.
This programme has offered nutritious hot breakfasts for more than 270,000 students every morning while also helping to promote agricultural products in the community because the vegetables and meat provided for the programme are homegrown in the surrounding communities, the same source underlined.
These students are able to enthusiastically participate in class studies because the Homegrown School Feeding Programme provides daily nutritious meals to more than 270,000 students from 1,113 schools across the country, it continued.
The Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia offers free breakfast meals on a daily basis to more than 50,000 students from 290 schools while the World Food Program has done it to more than 220,000 students from 823 schools.
