Second Long-term Forecast: Rainy Season to Come in First Week of May

Cambodia’s rainy season is expected to begin in the first week of May, according to the second long-term weather forecast by the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology.
The rainy season will bring from moderate to heavy rainfalls until the fourth week of November.
The ministry also warned the public of possible thunder, lightning, and whirl wind and called for their vigilance.
Cambodia’s weather will mainly be influenced by the Neutral (60%) and La Nina (40%) phenomena from May to July, and by Neutral (60%), La Nina (30%) and El Nino (10%) from September to December, said the forecast.
It added that this year, Cambodia also expects about 26-28 major storms.
