Securities Exchange Plans Online Trade in Mid-2017

Cambodia Securities Exchange will launch online share trading by mid of this year in order to promote the access among individual traders.

According to Cambodia Securities Exchange Chief Executive Officer Mr. Hong Sok Hour, the online platform will serve as a convenient tool that injects individuals with timely information and updates to trade their shares.

The online tradding would be put into operation in July or September this year, he added.

Increasing smartphone and internet access among Cambodians is the driver behind the online share trading concept of the Cambodia Securities Exchange.

To date, there are four private and state-run companies and enterprises listed in the securities exchange. They are Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority, Green Twin International, Phnom Penh Autonomous Port, and Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone.

As shared by Mr. Hong Sok Hour, about 8,000 accounts are active every day with trading amount of over US$10,000.
