Senate Approves Amendment to Traffic Law

Cambodian Senate yesterday approved the amendment to the traffic law in order to address pending licensing issue and promotes road safety in the country.

One spirit of the amendment is to delegate licensing work to the sub-national level and to ease motorbike licensing of family members sharing one vehicle.

At the same time, the approved amendment will also harden penalty for traffic law violators repeating their crimes, and promoting seat belt fastening among all passengers.

Chaired by H.E. Nay Pena, Senate's First Vice President, all 49 participating senators approved the amendment defended by Minister of Public Works and Transport H.E. Sun Chanthol.
