Senate President Holds Farewell Meeting with Outgoing South Korean Ambassador

Senate President Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum has granted a farewell meeting to outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia H.E. Kim Weon-jin at the senate office here in Phnom Penh on Nov. 30.

The senate president spoke highly of H.E. Kim Weon-jin's productive mission contributing immensely to the enhancement of Cambodia and South Korea cooperation in various sectors.

He thanked H.E. Ambassador particularly for his endeavour to convince Korean investors to Cambodia in the areas of construction, tourism, agriculture, agro-industry, natural resource management, energy supply, garment, finance, and real estate.

Samdech Say Chhum also expressed his appreciation for the Government of the Republic of Korea for accepting Cambodians to work in the country.

In return, H.E. Kim Weon-jin thanked Samdech Say Chhum as well as the Royal Government of Cambodia for their warm hospitality and supportive cooperation during his mission.

Both sides concluded their meeting with exchange of commitment and optimism for the future of the two countries' relations.

As of 2017, there are 862 companies from South Korea operating in Cambodia. The trade volume of the two nations has reached US$800 million, and over 350,000 Koreans visit Cambodia annually.

On the same day, in the afternoon, H.E. Kim Weon-jin also paid a farewell visit to Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly.
