Senior Minister Sun Chanthol Attends Annual Meeting of New Champions 2017 of WEF

Cambodian Senior Minister H.E. Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport, attended the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2017 of the World Economic Forum (WEF), held in Dalian city, Liaoning province of China.

According to the ministry's news release, during the meeting on June 27-29, 2017, H.E. Sun Chanthol shared his views on the need for more private sector investment in Cambodia's infrastructure and asked the private sector to consider unique business opportunities within the country's connectivity development, while the private sector that attended this event affirmed their interest to receive more information on incentives and initiatives that they might consider exploring for the mutual benefit of both Cambodia and their companies.

On the sidelines of the event, H.E. Sun Chanthol also met with Mr. Phillip Rosler, Head of Regional and Government Engagement, and Member of the Managing Board of WEF to discuss the successful WEF on ASEAN, held in Phnom Penh between May 10 and 12, 2017.

Mr. Rosler thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for organising and hosting this globally important event which showcased Cambodia as a very relevant world player. Mr. Rosler noted that Cambodia gained a lot of international attention and interest from both the public and private sectors.
