Senior Minister Sun Chanthol Receives Japanese Ambassador

Cambodian Senior Minister H.E. Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport, held talks here on Tuesday this week with H.E. Hidehisa Horinouchi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia.

According to the ministry’s news release, H.E. Senior Minister and the Japanese diplomat discussed the cooperation and assistance from Japan to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

On the occasion, H.E. Sun Chanthol expressed his gratitude to Japan’s support to Cambodia, especially to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

Currently, some of the infrastructure projects under consideration from Japan include the rehabilitation of the Chroy Changvar Bridge, the enlargement of National Road No. 5 from two to four lanes, the construction of new container port in Sihanoukville. In addition, the feasibility of the Automated Guide way Transit from Phnom Penh to the Airport is being conducted by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
