Ms. Minnie Chey, newly appointed Country Director of Korea Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) for Cambodia, paid here yesterday a courtesy call on H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport.

H.E. Sun Chanthol expressed warm welcome to the new country director and asked EDCF to study the possibility of waterway transport development, mainly the use of Cambodia’s water network like Bassac River, Lower Mekong River and Upper Mekong River, a potential source for the transport sector to reduce transport and logistics expense.

The minister also thanked the Government of the Republic of Korea for its support for infrastructure construction in Cambodia such as the improvement projects of National Roads No. 2, 22 and 48, and many other infrastructure projects in Cambodia.

Ms. Minnie Chey expressed her commitment to closely cooperate with the ministry in contribution to infrastructure development in Cambodia.
