Siem Reap Province Expects to Welcome Over 2 Million Tourists This Year

Siem Reap province, home to the famous UNESCO-listed Angkor Archaeological Park, is expected to welcome at least 2.27 million tourists by the end of this year.

The optimism was shared by H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, in a meeting on Aug. 16, as Cambodia is reopening the country for vaccinated tourists.

To reach the target, the Ministry of Tourism is working with relevant government bodies and the private sector on the launch of special tour packages to attract tourists to the province.

Currently, 548 of the total 1,187 tourism-related businesses and services across Siem Reap province have resumed their operations.
