South Korea to Support Cambodia’s Worker Rehabilitation

The Republic of Korea will support Cambodia with funding, skills training and experience sharing in rehabilitating workers who suffered by work accidents.

H.E. Lee Jae-kap, former Minister of Employment and Labour of the Republic of Korea and currently in charge of the Official Development Assistance Programme for rehabilitation work in Cambodia, share his plan in a meeting with Cambodia Minister of Labour and Vocational Training at the ministry office in Phnom Penh on Aug. 25.

H.E. Lee Jae-kap informed H.E. Ith Samheng that he has engaged in policy development for the protection of injured Korean workers and to support them to return to work.

H.E. Ith Samheng thanked his guest as well as the Republic of Korea and firmly believed that H.E. Lee Jae-kap’s experience will be beneficial for Cambodia rehabilitation work.

He updated H.E. Lee Jae-kap on the latest development of Cambodia’s social security system covering the themes such as occupational risk, health care and pension.

He also spoke highly of over 50,000 Cambodian workers working in the Republic of Korea, gaining new skills, decent income and work experience.
