Taiwanese reported killed in Philippines

A Taiwanese man is reported to have been killed when he and his wife returned to their home in the Philippines Saturday, according to a local newspaper.

The 60-year-old businessman, identified as Pai Chi Fu in the Philippine Daily Inquirer report, was stabbed to death by a 15-year-old boy in his home in Rizal, Nueva Ecija Province, a town 188 kilometers north of Manila, as he tried to defend his 58-year-old wife, who was also stabbed and taken to hospital.

Taiwan’s representative office in the Philippines said it will send staff to Rizal to find out what happened and offer any necessary assistance.
