Three Days of New Year Celebration Attract Nearly 5 Million Visitors

During the three-day New Year celebration (Year of Pig), Cambodia attracted in total almost five million visitors, without counting the other 3 million who went to pagodas and villages across the country, according to the Ministry of Tourism's news release.

According to the preliminary statistics, of the total visitors, there were 4.64 million local tourists, up 66.40 percent, and 83,123 foreign tourists, up 98.27 percent compared to the same period last year.

All tourist destinations, villages, pagodas, schools, and so on were full of joys along with sounds from Bluetooth speakers.

Among the 25 provinces and capital city, Battambang province attracted most of the visitors with some 870.000, followed by Svay Rieng with about 467.000 tourists, Siem Reap wth around 380,000, and Kampong Cham with approximately 332,000.
