Tourism Commercial Capacity Building Programme Promoted

The Tourism Commercial Capacity Building Programme (TCBP) – an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism funded through a grant from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) has been promoted.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Tourism, the four-year programme aims to strengthen the Tourism Sector by building capacity within both the Public and Private Sector.
Other recent activities have included developing the Taste Cambodia video campaign, conducting studies to help strengthen the market, and developing training for the technical staff of the Ministry of Tourism and the Private Sector Tourism Associations, it added.
Future actions will support ecotourism development in Kampong Speu province and developing SMART tourism solutions to encourage urban tourism in Phnom Penh, it pointed out.
H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism said that “the Ministry of Tourism is pleased to showcase more Wonders of Cambodia, by introducing some of the lesser-known ecotourism sites across the country and igniting a passion for the wonderful Khmer cuisine we have to offer in the Kingdom. Through the Tourism Commercial Capacity Building Programme (TCBP) funded by AFD and with the support of Redhill Communications, we hope that the Mystery Trips and Virtual Food Festival will help entice the interest of local Cambodians and international residents in exploring more of the Kingdom than just the well-known areas, and to encourage them to Test Cambodia. Not only will this encourage people to Rediscover Cambodia but will help to boost the recovery of the Cambodian economy after the difficult period impacting by the COVID-19 pandemic”.
Mystery Trips are a series of adventures to hidden eco-tourism destinations across Cambodia, the Kingdom of Wonder, while Virtual Food Festival is aimed to promote delectable traditional Khmer cuisines via livestreaming on the Ministry of Tourism’s new Facebook page @tastethewondersofcambodia once a week over four consecutive weeks, starting from Feb. 10, 2022.
