Tourism Marketing and Advertisement Council Taking Shape

AKP Phnom Penh, Ministry of Tourism is establishing a so-called marketing and advertisement council to further promote Cambodia’s tourism potential, Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon told a local media.

The council plays a crucial role to encourage active engagement of private sector in the marketing and advertisement work for Cambodia’s tourism.

As planned, the formation of the marketing and advertisement council will be completed in April 2017.

Last year, Cambodia welcomed over 5 million tourists, up by 5 percent compared with the previous year.

Cambodia is expected to attract about 5.4 million foreign tourists this year and seven million in 2020 – the effort that will bring about a total revenue of around US$5 billion and generate about one million direct jobs.

The establishment of the mentioned council will contribute vitally to achieving the set objectives.
