Tourism Minister Projects One Million Chinese Tourists to Cambodia in 2017

Tourism Minister has lately projected that Cambodia would receive one million Chinese tourists by the close of 2017, according to local media report.

As indicated in the report, H.E. Thong Khon grounded his projection on emerging flow of tourists in Cambodia, highlighting that despite the on-going rainy season, the number of tourists visiting Cambodia is not declining, particularly those from China and Europe.

Chinese tourists, cited the minister in the source as saying, are the biggest spenders and wanted by many countries across the world.

Ministry of Tourism has introduced the so-called Chinese Ready, White Book in order to attract expectedly two million Chinese visitors to Cambodia a year by 2020.

In the first four months of this year, some 390,000 Chinese tourists visited Cambodia � about 30 percent increase compared to the same period in 2016.

Two Chinese airlines from Yunnan and Shenzhen provinces have recently started direct flights with Cambodia.

With increasing direct flights to Cambodia, Chairperson of Cambodia Association of Travel Agents Ms. Chhay Sivlin shared similar optimism with H.E. Minister of Tourism.
